This is why DEKit champions a seamless 5-step process to create a completely custom boat floor for your boat that doesn’t only feel great to use, but also great to get

In this article, we’ll give you an inside look at the DEKit process and explain why we’re the best boat flooring on the market.

DEKit Process: The Best Boat Flooring, Custom-Made for Your Boat

We specialize in improving your boating experience, from the very first moment you get in touch about your new or replacement boat flooring to installing a completely custom-crafted final product.

Here’s the step-by-step of what you can expect from partnering with DEKit.

How It Works: 5 Seamless Steps

1. Get in Touch

To kick things off, get in touch with your local dealer using a convenient contact form on the DEKit website. We have dealers available across the country and someone close to your location will reach back in a matter of hours to give you a quote and schedule your appointment.

Alternatively, you can also give us a call at 833-335-4848 or get in touch via email at info@dekit.com

2. DEKit Digitally Scans Your Boat

When you work with DEKit, you don’t have to go anywhere.

Our team will come to your boat and use advanced machines to measure the surface where you want your boat teak decking installed. This ensures a custom fit that is made for your boat and no one else’s.

During the digital scan, you don’t have to worry about anything. Simply sit back and relax as our pros take the first step to creating your new boat flooring.

3. CAD Design

Once we get the measurements we need, our expert CAD designers will use them to create DEKit that perfectly matches your boat in all the right places. This means no awkward angles, missed spots, or poor overlay — just premium boating experience.

DEKit offers limitless boat flooring options when it comes to design. You can choose from more than 50+ colors, multiple design options from plain standard to faux teak, and even add your own custom pattern or logo. The rule of thumb is, if you can think it, we can do it.

4. CNC Precision Cut

The next step is prepping DEKit state of the art CNC machines and shaping your new boat flooring. Our skilled CNC machinists operate the machines with the utmost precision for clean and accurate cuts that seamlessly fit your boat.

DEKit boat flooring is made with premium quality marine foam that offers durability, comfort, and reliability to boat owners from all walks of life. From fishing boats to Grady Whites, we’ve created boat flooring for all kinds of boats.

5. Professional Installation

As soon as your new boat flooring is ready, DEKit will go back to your boat for a professional installation. DEKit can be applied over existing non-skid and is easy to install — but we’ll still do it for you with the utmost care.

DEKit boat flooring comes with a 3M™ acrylic based high-bond pressure sensitive adhesive, which can be installed over:

  • Non-skid surfaces
  • Slip-resistant surfaces
  • Gelcoat
  • Awlgrip
  • Painted surfaces
  • Metal surfaces

Once your DEKit is installed, you’re all set to start cruising with your new boat flooring for even more fun and comfort on the water.

Why Foam Is the Best Material for Your Boat Floor

At DEKit, we believe that boat owners have the right to demand the best — especially when it comes to their boat floor material.

This is why we use non-skid, exclusively cross-linked PE/EVA foam to formulate all DEKit boat flooring.

When compared with other types of boat flooring, foam offers multiple advantages to boat owners.

→ When compared with conventional wood flooring, foam is significantly easier on your feet, requires less maintenance to stay in prime condition, and will not rot if exposed to water for long periods of time.

→ When compared with vinyl marine flooring, foam is more reliable and doesn’t get hot in the sun, which makes it much more comfortable to use.

→ When compared with aluminum flooring, foam is a much more flexible material because it can be used both in freshwater and saltwater environments (exposing aluminum to saltwater will lead to corrosion).

→ When compared with traditional marine carpet, foam doesn’t retain dirt and bacteria, is easy to clean, and doesn’t get damaged in direct sunlight the way boat carpet does.

→ When compared with PVC flooring tiles, foam doesn’t fade over time.

→ When compared with rubber flooring, foam is more durable and UV-resistant.

Foam boat flooring is one of the best alternatives on the market, but DEKit has perfected foam flooring to deliver even more comfort and protection.

Why Choose DEKit Foam

Powerful UV Protection

We use 3M PSA and UV Protectants to create a finished product that is designed to withstand life on the water. DEKit doesn’t fade in direct sunlight even if you regularly stay out on the water for multiple hours at a time.

DEKit is also designed to dissipate heat even on the hottest days with its closed cell structure. This means that you can comfortably stay barefoot on your deck even when the sun’s out.

Easy to Maintain

With DEKit, you don’t have to worry about things like dirt, spills, footprints, or even fish blood. All you need to maintain your DEKit clean and protected is a bucket of water, some soap, and a stiff bristle brush.

If your DEKit is heavily soiled, you can use a special cleaning solution on your boat EVA flooring, but regular bleach can also get the job done.

Industry-Leading Warranty

We’re confident in the quality of our products.

This is why DEKit boat flooring comes with an unrivaled three-year warranty so you can feel sure about the quality of the product you’re getting.
